Why I Will Not Be Reading The Vagina Monologues

Trigger  Warning:  Rape  and  Ciscentricism
TVM  Had  such  great  potential,  but  ultimately  research  made  me  realize  I  have  no  respect  for  Eve  Ensler.  I'll  sum  this  up  rather  than  making  a  long  post.
Imagine  a  woman  over  twenty-one  who  gave  a  thirteen  or  sixteen  year  old  (or  any  underage  girl)  alcohol,  raped  her,  and  gas-lighted  her,  telling  her  she  didn't  need  men  to  be  happy  sexually,  that  she  was  liberated  by  "feminism"  that  even  if  people  called  it  rape,  it  was  good  rape.  That  is  an  extremely  controlling  woman,  and  who  is  a  sexual  predator.  She  abuses  her  dominance  over  the  girl  and  uses  her  as  nothing  more  than  something  to  objectify,  exert  control  over,  and  use  for  sex.  I  would  be  very  concerned  for  that  girl.
To  Eve  Ensler,  that  woman  gives  "freedom  from  men"  (I  have  heard  the  play  is  very  misandrist),  the  picture  of  feminism  (oh  fuck,  if  that's  the  picture  of  feminism  then  I  am  out  of  here),  and  a  saint.  Eve  Ensler,  I  am  hear  to  inform  you  that  you,  yes  you,  have  problems  that  are  in  dire  need  of  reevaluating.  You  are  not  truly  against  violence  against  women,  you  instead  have  made  it  acceptable  all  over  again.  No,  you  can't  go  all  "V-Day"  with  me,  many  women  have  been  raped  by  another  woman  or  in  an  abusive  relationship  where  her  partner  was  female.  Besides,  it's  a  myth  that  older  women  never  break  statutory  rape  laws  with  younger  women.  I  have  read  stories  of  women  who  were  abused  by  other  women  (and  when  you  click  the  link  it  was  literally  in  the  name  of  feminism),  who  were  raped  by  other  women  (which  as  explained  in  the  link,  is  commonly  ignored  by  feminists),  and  have  heard  about  women  who  have  specifically  broke  statutory  rape  laws  with  younger  women  (I  forgot  where  I  found  a  story,  sorry).  Have  all  you  readers  clicked  on  the  links  and  read  the  stories  yet?  If  you  haven't,  do  it  now  and  prepare  to  have  your  faith  in  humanity  broken  into  a  pieces,  losing  some  that  will  never  be  found  again,  meaning  you'll  never  complete  all  you  glue  together.  What  you  read  is  both  important  to  feminism,  and  what  the  women  did  should  not  be  seen  as  feminist.
I  am  sorry  to  all  the  female  rape  victims  and  sexual  assault  survivors  who  get  a  slap  in  the  face  from  Eve  Ensler,  who  says  their  rape  was  somehow  good  because  no  cis  men  with  penises  were  involved.  This  kind  of  abuse  also  happens  to  trans*  women,  not  just  cis.  Eve  Ensler,  you  are  not  a  hero,  you  are  a  disgrace  to  all  the  women  who  have  to  remember  that  someone  took  advantage  of  them.  Sure  the  good  rape  line  was  removed,  but  the  damage  stays.  Because  of  ideas  like  yours  that  exist  and  run  rampant  in  society,  more  women  hang  their  heads  down  in  shame  and  balme  themselves.  Just  because  a  man  didn't  rape  them  doesn't  mean  it  wasn't  rape,  nor  does  it  somehow  make  it  good.  These  women  aren't  freed  from  men,  somehow  more  feminist,  or  happy.  Even  if  they've  gotten  over  what  happened  to  them,  they  have  to  live  every  damn  day  knowing  what  happened  to  them  was  something  that  most  people  would  never  see  as  real  rape.  Instead,  most  people  would  have  sick  girl-on-girl  fantasies,  accuse  them  of  being  gay,  or  somehow  because  men  weren't  involved,  create  a  double  standard  that  somehow  there  is  good  rape.  Eve  Ensler,  there  isn't.  Because  so  many  women  have  to  go  through  the  aftermath  of  what  happened  by  themselves,  learning  what  society  thinks  of  what  happened  to  them,  a  society  where  your  play  is  considered  extremely  noteworthy  (A.K.A.  good),  is  sickening,  and  has  made  me  lose  all  respect  for  you.  I  place  my  priorities  not  with  you,  but  the  women  who  have  to  suffer,  and  of  whom  you  choose  to  ignore  with  blissful,  not  truly  feminist  ignorance.

Side  Note:  I  hope  I'm  not  the  only  one  who  thought  the  play  reinforced  the  transphobic  idea  that  vagina  =  women,  which  also  makes  me  not  want  to  read  it.  Let's  not  even  get  to  the  part  where  Eve  Ensler  thinks  women  somehow  feel  emotions  with  their  vaginas  (yeah,  my  vagina  just  spits  blood  and  clear  junk  out  of  it,  it  doesn't  get  on  a  soapbox),  or  that  women  somehow  are  their  vaginas,  because  I  am  not  my  frigging  vagina.

Glee =/= Kind To The Trans* Community

Yes  everyone,  the  famous  "Rocky  Horror  Glee  Show"  is  what  I'm  currently  watching.  You  know  what  I  hate?  Transphobia  (even  though  I'm  not  trans).  Why?  Because  transphobia  is  just  as  wrong  as  homophobia.  But  Glee  doesn't  know  there's  a  "T"  in  "LGBT"  for  some  reason  (or  maybe  I'll  just  blame  Nip/Tuck).  I  mean  what's  a  better  way  to  show  love  and  tolerance  for  difference  in  people  than  to  say  transphobic  slurs?
But  before  we  even  get  to  that,  I'm  going  to  make  a  comment  on  Brittany's  costume  choice  for  Halloween.  What  is  it?  A  peanut  allergy  for  fucking  crying  out  loud.  I've  lived  my  entire  fucking  life  with  a  peanut  allergy  and  had  two  reactions,  one  of  which  almost  killed  me.  Yes,  I  have  such  a  severe  peanut  (and  nut)  allergy  that  I  can  die  because  of  it.  Am  I  supposed  to  find  this  line  funny?  I  was  bullied  as  a  kid  for  having  that  allergy,  my  allergy  defining  me.  People  literally  waved  peanut  butter  sandwiches  in  front  of  me,  almost  touching  me  with  it.  My  early  childhood  up  to  about  sixth  grade  was  defined  mainly  by  my  allergy  (now  almost  no  one  knows  I  have  it).  So  should  I  be  "LOLing"  at  this?  FUCK  NO.  If  anti-gay  bullying  is  bad  (it  is),  why  isn't  bullying  someone  for  an  allergy  they  can't  control  not?  If  I'm  having  peanut  butter  purposely  waved  only  a  few  feet  away  from  my  face  should  I  be  concerned?  YES.  And  of  course  no  one  (although  Brittany  was  talking  to  Kurt)  batted  an  eyelash  at  it.  See,  Glee  is  so  respectful  to  people  like  me  who  could  easily  die  because  of  it.  Fuck  this  show  (and  yet  I'll  still  watch  it  to  call  it  out  on  its  bullshit  -  sigh).  I'm  so  glad  something  that  can  easily  make  me  lose  my  life  is  a  fucking  one  line  joke.
OK,  so  enough  on  food  allergies,  onto  transphobia.  Of  course  Glee  is  "pushing  boundaries"  by  removing  any  mention  of  actual  transvestism  (by  a  girl  playing  a  guy  who  dresses  like  a  girl  when  you  can  tell  she  is  a  girl),  and  saying  the  word  "tranny"  without  batting  an  eyelash.  Yep,  you're  really  reaching  for  the  stars,  though  you've  only  made  it  to  the  moon.  I  have  a  prediction  Frank  N.  Furter  isn't  going  to  be  pansexual,  either.
Sue,  guess  what?  Parents  don't  seem  to  encourage  little  boys  to  dress  up  as  little  girls  for  Halloween!  But  this  is  Glee,  where  facts  like  that  somehow  don't  exist. . .  Why  are  the  writers  so  fucking  ignorant?
OK,  since  I'm  still  watching  the  show,  was  the  "Mexican  Terrorist  Ants"  part  needed?  We  have  fucking  problems  in  U.S.A.  with  our  relations  to  Mexico.  But  you  know  Glee,  always  making  offensive  one  liners  no  one  seems  to  care  about.
"Secular  Progressive  Agenda"?
And  of  course  everyone's  more  concerned  when  there  is  no  role  for  Frank  N.  Furter  then  when  the  negative  word  "tranny"  is  used. . .
Yep,  Glee  clearly  doesn't  understand  gender  expression  very  well.  Because  Frank  N.  Furter  was  meant  to  be  sexy,  and  was  meant  to  be  played  by  a  feminine  girl.
"Sensational  Transylvania"?  Because  having  kids  walk  around  on  stage  in  their  underwear  is  perfectly  fine,  but  say  "transsexual"?  Oh  hell  no,  that  is  bad  for  teens!  Oh,  and  you  can  say  the  derogatory  term  "tranny"  but  the  proper  term?  Just  plain  frigging  no.  Mercedes  wanted  to  make  the  song  more  "modern"  by  saying  "Sensational" instead  of  "Transsexual",  cause  you  know,  MewTwo  must  have  wiped  all  the  transsexuals  out  or  something  and  they're  like  dinosaurs.  Of  course  we  don't  have  trans*  students  at  high  schools,  of  course  not.  And  of  course  Frank  N.  Furter  is  supposed  to  have  a  feminine  voice  and  really  look  like  a  girl  rather  than  a  drag  queen  (no  offense  to  drag  queens  everywhere).  The  Glee  writers  need  to  read  the  definition  of  "transvestite"  a  few  hundred  times.  One  of  the  reasons  Rocky  Horror  was  so  famous  was  for  its  cross-dressing!  Of  course  Glee  ignores  this. . .  How  ignorant  are  the  writers?  Let's  not  even  mention  the  gay  teen  who  was  forced  to  remove  his  high  heels  in  school,  since  you  know,  it's  normal  for  teens  to  be  transvestites  at  high  schools.  Do  these  writers  live  under  fucking  rocks  (answer:  Yes)?
Listen  to  the  Glee  version  and  the  original.  Which  one  sounds  like  an  actual  transvestite  male  singing?
Of  course  The  Rocky  Horror  Picture  Show  Glee  version  is  risky  enough,  making  transvestism  and  trans*  people  an  extra  special  risk. How  am  I  still  alive  after  watching  this  bullshit?
This  show  is  giving  me  more  of  a  headache  than  the  Pokemon  Lavender  Town  theme  song.
Of  course  trans*  individuals  aren't  outcasts. . .  What  is  with  all  the  obvious  ignorance  here?
Holy  fuck,  I'm  done  with  the  show!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!
So  what  are  my  final  comments  on  this  episode?
The  writers  of  Glee  are  ignorant  on  gender  issues  (as  I  pointed  above),  trans*  people,  even  Rocky  Horror  itself  (oh,  and  peanut  allergies).
This  shows  transphobia  and  how  deeply  our  society  is  set  into  it  (caring  more  about  a  musical  than  millions  of  people  who  are  trans*),  how  society  likes  sticking  people  into  boxes  (Mercedes  as  a  "transvestite"),  and  even  ignorant  to  the  fact  that  many  parents  get  pissed  at  little  boys  who  dress  up  like  little  girls.  They  were  ignorant  to  some  of  the  important  messages  of  Rocky  Horror  (like  cross-dressing  is  OK)  that  "transsexual"  is  a  word  (because  the  truth  is,  we  still  have  transsexual  and  trans*  people  today,  always  have,  always  will.  Ignoring  trans*  people  isn't  fine  or  caring  about  difference  in  people.  Trans*  people  aren't  a  special  kind  of  evil.  Hell,  if  I  were  on  the  show  they'd  probably  make  fun  of  me  because  I'm  manly.),  and  even  made sure  Rachel  wore  clothes  because  who  would  want  to  see  her  in  her  bra  and  underwear  (OK,  I  wouldn't  want  to  see  that,  ugh,  but  still,  why  have  anyone  in  their  underwear?).
But  I'm  sure  someone  will  ask  why  I'm  so  concerned  about  a  vapid  show  for  teenagers  (except  me,  I'm  a  part  of  the  few  non-Glee  fan  teenagers),  so  why  am  I?  Well  guys,  looking  back,  why  did  I  write  this?  I  mean,  it  is  just  a  TV  show.  I'm  sorry  I  got  so  worked  up  because  I  have  a  pro-trans*  bias,  wanting  equal  rights  for  them  in  every  way  possible.  I'm  sorry  I  got  worked  up  over  such  a  small  comment.  I'm  sorry  I  can't  realize  Glee  must  have  meant  something  else.

I  hope  you  guys  know  what  sarcasm  is.  I  am  not  fucking  sorry  for  standing  up  to  a  group  of  people  who  need  help  when  they  are  beaten  in  bathrooms,  fired  from  their  jobs,  not  allowed  to  be  who  they  are.  I  don't  "tranny"  to  be  a  passing  term,  I  don't  want  it  to  be  the  next  "That's  so  gay!",  I  want  people  to  realize  the  word  is  wrong.  Glee  could  have  said  something  like  "drag  queens"  or  "girl"  or  something  else  instead  of  "tranny".  Glee  could  have  used  a  guy  to  express  gender  identity,  breaking  society's  neat  little  boxes,  but  they  chose  not  to.  I  bet  they  even  had  the  chance,  hell  they  could  have  said  something  else  for  "tranny".  Hell,  Glee  even  used  "tranny"  in  the  original  pilot.  Transphobia  is  rampant  in  our  society,  and  Glee  only  added  to  it.  Hell,  they've  proven  it  in  other  episodes.  You  remember  Kurt  saying  he  wanted  to  run  Logo?  I  don't  watch  much  Logo  (only  The  Big  Gay  Sketch  Show,  oh  how  I  love  TBGSS),  but  I  know  TBGSS  was  accepting  to  trans*  people.  Need  some  examples?  The  trans  hooker  and  Prince  Fitzwilliam  (I'll  donate  you  my  vagina,  Fitzwilliam, I  don't  need  it).  Kurt  would  have  to  learn  to  be  comfortable  with  a  LGBT  company,  or  lose  viewers.  Oh,  I  even  heard  Glee  was  possibly  going  to  have  a  cross  dressing/trans*  character,  but  with  Ryan  Murphy  having  worked  for  Nip/Tuck,  I  hope  it  never happens.  (Nip/Tuck  portrayed  trans  women  offensively.)  Hell,  I'm  sure  the  trans*  character  would  have  so  many  offensive  questions  asked  about  them  (like  if  they'll  show  everyone  their  genitals).
There  is  also  lots  of  transphobia  in  the  gay  community,  which  is  repulsive.  Glee  could  challenge  this,  but  instead  embraces  transphobia  in  gays.
Glee  is  only  a  small  part  of  our  society,  but  has  a  large  fan  base,  probably  with  trans*  viewers.  But  Glee  isn't  a  respectful,  accepting-of-difference  show,  and  if  you  believe  so,  you  are  delusional.  Now  excuse  me  while  I  actually  try  to  help  trans*  people.  Trans*  people  are  not  easy  to  be  replaced,  a  special  evil,  or  a  one  liner  to  be  forgotten,  they  are  human  beings.

Speaking  of  Rocky  Horror,  watch  this  video  where  the  song  "Friends  From  The  Other  Side"  from  The  Princess  and  the  Frog  is  used  with  video  clips  from  Rocky  Horror,  totally  awesome.

So  is  Glee  progressive?  FUCK  NO.

Do These Bulls Have Healthy Bowels Or What?

How  much  bullshit  is  there  on  the  internet?
I  just  have  to  breathe,  in,  out,  in,  out.
Today's  bullshit  is  on  anti-marriage  equality  from  the  designers  who  made  the   conservative  and  anti-choice  t-shirts  I've  been  commenting  on  (Virtuous  Planet).  Prepare  for  my  asexual  homoromantic  powers  to  go  on  high!  But  there  are  also  barely  any.  Less  for  me  to  make  fun  of.  :(

Ah,  homophobia  at  its  stupidest.  Encouraging  the  ex-gay  bullshit  and  mocking  the  idea  that  M/M  or  F/F  can  be  good  people  in  just  as  good  as  a  relationship  as  them.  And  where  are  they  getting  this?  Ye  olde  religious  book  of  Jezus.

Translation:  Proudly  Homophobic
Also,  they  are  against  pre-martial  sex,  becaus e getting  any  deep  partnership  before  marriage  is  supposedly  wrong.  I  would  like  these  people  to  kindly  leave  my  bedroom.
Keep  on  it,  Rainbow  Dash.

You've  been  redefining  marriage  for  a  while,  too.  Here's  traditional  marriage:
-Husbands  could  rape  and beat  their  wives.
-Wife  (or  wives)  and  children  were  property
And  you  have  changed  that,  redefined  it!  You  hypocrites!

What's the  sign  that  they're  married?  They  could  just  be  BF/GF  and  live  in  the  same  house.

And  again  your  only  argument  comes  from  a  really  old  religious  book.

Michelle  Bachman,  what  are  you  doing  on  my  blog?
Rings  and  patriarchal  images  are  true  symbols  of  love?  Not  two  happy  people  (in  this  case  a  man  and  woman)  doing  something  together  that  doesn't  necessarily  have  to  do  with  marriage?  Why  is  the  wedding  day  so  important?  Can't  they  just  spend  time  together,  having  fun?  Or  is  that  too  bad?

You  mean  Prop  H8?  Or  did  you  support  the  musical?
Who  in  the  flying  fuck  would  want  to  marry  God?

If  you  believe  true  love  can't  be  between  two  people  of  the  same  sex,  that  is  supporting  age  old  hate.  A  man  and  a  woman  does  not  always  equal  love.

So  you  believe  a  gay  couple  has  the  right  to  marry  as  long  as  it's  with  someone  of  the  opposite  sex?  You  know  what  that  is?
I'm  glad  you  support  threesomes.

Nah,  we're  too  busy  flaunting  the  rainbow  on  our  underwear  and  on  our  Skittles.  Taking  it  back  would  be  very,  very  hard.

Blue  +  Pink  =  Purple,  not  green.  Are  you  guys  colorblind?

Those  were  awful  and  hateful.  This  website  is  filled  with  images  like  these  and  I'm  wondering  whether  to  post  more  or  not.  I  may  or  may  not,  but  there  isn't  much  left.  The  rest  is  mostly  just  "Jesus,  Jesus,  Jesus".
To  end  this,  I'll  post  this  amazing  quote  from  John  Green:
“Well, while you were in the bathroom, I sat down at this picnic table here in Bumblefug, Kentucky, and noticed that someone had carved that GOD HATES FAG, which, aside from being a grammatical nightmare, is absolutely ridiculous. So I'm changing it to 'God Hates Baguettes.' It's tough to disagree with that. Everybody hates baguettes. ”

I, Pierre Seel, Deported Homosexual by Pierre Seel Review

Pierre  Seel  was  the  only  openly  French  man  who  spoke  about  his  deportation  by  the  Nazis  for  being  homosexual.  He  died  in  2005  of  cancer,  having  lived  the  last  of  his  life  fighting  for  the  recognition  of  homosexuals  as  victims  of  the  Nazis.
I've  been  waiting  a  long  time  to  read  this  book  after  countless  study  time  of  the Nazi  deportation  of  homosexuals  and  seeing  Seel  in  Paragraph  175.  I  bought  this  on  iTunes  for  $10,  and  the  ebook  barely  disappointed  (however  there  were  some  typos  and  I  couldn't  read  Seel's  file  at  the  end  because  of  it  being  on  my  iPod  Touch).
In  the  beginning  we  get  to  know  Seel's  views  on  homosexuality  (he  was  pro-gay),  his  life  before  deportation,  about  himself  and  his  family.  I  slowly  learned  things  that  many  people  feel  doesn't  truly  matter  about  Seel  (his  love  for  chocolate  eclairs,  for  example).  We  don't  get  to  know  as  much  about  his  friends  or  family,  mainly  because  he  isn't  his  friends  or  family.  He  suppressed  his  memory,  so  we  will  never  get  to  know  everything  about  him  from  this  book. But  even  with  a  lack  of  information,  we  learn  to  understand  Seel  and  feel  his  suffering.
Seel  brings  you  into  the  society  he  lived  in,  extremely  homophobic  and  misogynistic  (when  he  looks  back  at  how  the  women  were  treated,  you  understand  the  puritan  thinking  of  sex  and  how  the  Nazis  "valued"  women,  which  he  wrote  very  interestingly. He  is  just  as  bitter  to  be  at  a  Lesbenborn  as  the  walking  Norwegian  wombs.).  Some  French  words  are  never  explained  and  you'll  have  to  know  a  bit  of  history,  but  it  was  very  alive  in  my  head.  We  learn   what  happened  when  the  Nazis  came  to  Alsace,  when  he  was  arrested.  Seel  had  trouble  reconciling  with  his  rape,  done  by  a  ruler.  In  Paragraph  175  he  said,  "My  ass  still  bleeds  to  this  day!"  When  he  was  arrested  and  sent  to  the  Alsace  camps,  I  saw  how  Seel  tried  to  stay  alive.  Life  became  meaningless  to  him,  he  just  wanted  food.  He  described  himself  multiple  times  as a  "ghost",  both  during  his  time  in  the  camps  and  after  he  left.  We  learn  about  the  camps  he  stayed  in  and  the  awful  people  like  Karl  Buck  who  worked  in  them.  Though  he  didn't  remember  everything,  Seel  got  out  as  much  as  he  could. Like  many  homosexual  Holocaust  survivors,  he  was  an  outsider  to  the  other  prisoners.  At  multiple  times  I  was  almost  crying,  especially  when  Jo  was  recounted.
Jo.  That  is  the  name  of  the  only  man  Pierre  Seel  ever  truly  loved  in  the  M/M  way.  Jo  wanted  a  true  relationship  back  when  being  gay  mainly  consisted  of  anonymous  sex  on  cruising grounds  or  hiring  rent  boys.  They  both  developed  a  thinly  described  relationship,  showing  us  how  Seel  truly  lost  many  memories  of  Jo.  Seel  recounts  being  in  other  relationships,  but  he  felt  like  he  was  cheating  on  Jo,  or  that  he'd  never  have  what  he  had  with  Jo.  Jo  was  the  ghost  that  hung  in  Seel's  life,  a  ghost  he  never  had  to  be  reminded  of.  Seel  missed  Jo  throughout  his  life  and  I  could  feel  his  pain,  a  pain  I  believe  never  truly  left  him.  He  and  Jo  may  have  been  enjoying  themselves  behind  fabric  in  a  textile  factory,  somewhere  many  people  wouldn't  want  to  be  making  out/doing  it  (though  it  is  never  elaborated  what  exactly  they  did  back  there,  I  have  no  idea  whether  it  was  sex  or  just  kissing).  Yet  Seel  would  have  given  anything  to  have  been  behind  that  fabric  again  with  Jo,  showing  how  deep  Jo  really  was  to  him.
Seel's  relationship  with  his  mother  is  just  as  heartbreaking  and  close.  Many  people  would  have  called  him  a  "Mama's  Boy"  or  "Sissy"  (not  to  mention  something  along  the  lines  of  "Faggot").  But  Seel  had  such  a  close  bond  it  makes  me  want  to  slap  anyone  who  calls  another  boy  a  "Mama's  Boy".  Seel  told  his  mother  all  that  happened  to  him,  and  she  was  the  first  person  he  truly  trusted  with  his  secrets.  He'd  been  outed  in  such  a  horrible  way  that  he'd  feared  telling  her.  Yet  his  mother  accepted  him,  unlike  many  other  people  he  knew.  When  his  mother  died  I  knew  another  part  of  Seel's  soul  was  lost.
That  being  said,  Seel  began  another  downwards  spiral  into  depression.  He  tried  marrying  and  having  a  family,  but  the  patriarchal  norm  (obviously)  did  not  help  him.  He  still  wished  to  be  with  men,  but  with  prejudice  and  what  happened  to  Jo,  it  was  hopeless.  He  had  trouble  connecting  with  others,  bringing  his  entire  family  down  his  spiral  with  them.  Thus  when  they  tried  to  get  up  again,  he  went  down  even  more.  His  masculinity  was  threatened  and  he  always  feared  people  knowing  he was  gay.  Seel  tried  staying  with  his  wife,  tried  to  be  the  provider  of  bread,  but  failed.  You  watch  as  the  strings  sewed  between he  and  his  wife  by  marriage  slowly  unravel,  leaving  only  pain.  Seel  tried  loving  his  children,  but  he  had  trouble  connecting  with  his  daughter  and  feared  showing  love  to  his  sons  would  be  seen  the  wrong  way.  Seel  was  a  shell  of  a  man  for  so  long,  a  walking  ghost.  At  one  time  he  nearly  went  insane,  at  other  times  he  learned  drugs  couldn't  help  him.
It  was  very  hard  for  Seel  to  receive  recognition  of  him  and  the  many  others  who  suffered  from  Nazi  and  the  worlds  homophobia.  It  took  him  years  to  be  recognized,  and  years  for  people  to  slowly  realize  homosexuals  were  victims  of  the  Nazis.  I  truly  understood  his  passion,  the  new  meaning  to  his  life.  He  fought  hard,  and  I  wish  he  were  still  alive  today.  Goodbye  Pierre  Seel,  I  will  try  to  further  your  mission. You  fought  hard,  even  though  you  never  truly  recovered  from  what  happened.  You  introduced  me  to  your  world  and  your  life,  which  included  so  many  things  I  can't  put  them  all  in  this  review.  Unlike  many  autobiographies,  yours  is  not  what  I'd  immediately  call  "life-changing"  or  "inspirational"  (though  it  is  life-changing  and  inspirational).  The  writing  is  very  cold,  and  we  get  to  know  how  you,  Pierre  Seel,  were.  There's  no  changing  the  past,  so  I  can  never  stop  what  happened  to  you  and  Jo.  Though  this  wasn't  the  emotional,  "go  change  the  world"  autobiography,  I  know  you  want  to  do  something  great.  When  you  got  this  published  and  continued  on  helping  the  Nazi  victims  because  of  their  homosexuality,  you  lifted  a  great  pain  off  your  chest.  You  have  changed  the  world  forever  and  you  have  inspired  you.  But  I  also  see  this  was  written  for  you  to  reconcile  with  what  happened  to  you,  not  only  for  all  the  readers.  I  wish  you  to  rest  in  peace  with  Jo.  You,  Pierre  Seel,  are  a  hero.  I  will  help  make  sure  you  are  remembered.
I  could  not  recommend  this  book  more.  There  are  many  things  I  believe  you  should  read  for  yourself  and  share.  This  will  make  you  rethink  life  and  what  happens  in  it.  It  makes  you  realize  we  need  eradicate  the  homophobic,  patriarchal  thinking  of  groups  like  the  Nazis,  in  modern  terms  Westboro  Baptist  Church.  I  recommend  this  for  anyone  wishing  to  study  more  in  depth  about  the  Holocaust,  the  times  when  Seel  was  alive,  LGBT  history,  everyone  with  an  open  mind.  This  is  obviously  five  stars.
Thank  you  for  changing  my  life  forever,  Pierre  Seel.  I  won't  forget  you.

A Note

I  wrote  about  Ashlynn  Conner  and  I  want  to  quote  this:

But the hard truth is that suicide spreads like a virus — a “contagion,” in the words of the experts — and that same sincere tribute that has people mad enough to demand changes in our schools could also lead to more suicides by LGBT youth.

I  quoted  this  from  an  article  on  The  Advocate's  website.  Please  be  careful  about  this.  If  you're  suicidal,  please  don't  die  for  attention.
